Vice President of University Technology at Western Governors University

Troy Davis is the Vice President of University Technology at Western Governors University, where he is responsible for shaping WGU’s academic technology agenda. Troy has a passion for using technology to improve the human condition. He has led global technology organizations in higher education, nonprofit, and corporate settings. Specifically, he brings deep experience in building and scaling systems in higher education and in advancing student learning and experience.

Troy previously served as Chief Information Officer at BYU Pathway Worldwide. During his six years there, he led the adoption of AI across products and operations and guided the overhaul and scaling of core systems and architecture as part of a strategy to support up to a million students. Troy has also held technology and leadership roles at The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, CHG Healthcare, Hewlett Packard, IBM, and WildBlue Communications. A favorite leadership role was a 2-year expatriate assignment in Ghana to turnaround IT operations in West Africa and build capability of his IT team.

Troy holds a BS in Business and a MS in Information Management from Brigham Young University.
