EdX has just released the newest version of the edX platform on edx.org and edX Edge.
This release includes the following new features.

A teams feature is now available to support small group interactions and projects for the learners in your courses. When this feature is enabled and team projects are defined, a learner can browse the project topics and then create a team to take part in group activities for a chosen topic. Staff grading options are now available for open response assessment assignments. Assignments can now be designed to include a staff grading step. In addition, course teams can assess the peer reviews made by individual learners and override them as needed. Course teams can now select the way a course is delivered to learners: the Schedule & Details page in Studio now includes a setting for either instructor-paced or self-paced courses. Configuration of due dates for the course content is dependent on this selection.
