EdX Release on 4 November 2015

November 4, 2015 | By

EdX has just released the newest version of the edX Platform on edx.org and edX Edge.

This release includes the following changes.

  • EdX now offers timed exams. Course teams can configure a course subsection so that learners have a set amount of time to complete and submit all problems in that subsection. For more information, see Timed Exams in Building and Running an edX Course.
  • In edX Insights, metrics for learner engagement with course content are now presented both as total counts and as percentages of the number of currently enrolled learners. For more information, see Engagement with Course Content in Using edX Insights.
  • The edX LMS now uses version 2.5 of MathJax. This update resolves a problem that sometimes prevented math equations from rendering on the course Discussion page.

For more information about the changes in this release and in our previous releases, see the edX Release Notes. You can access the weekly release notes, as well as all other edX documentation, at docs.edx.org.
