EdX Release on 9 August 2016

August 9, 2016 | By

EdX has just released the newest version of the edX platform on edx.org and edX Edge.

This release includes the following updates.

  • In the LMS, course updates, including those added on the same date, now appear in reverse chronological order (most recently added at the top).

  • In the LMS, when CAPA (computer assisted personalized approach) problems display in right-to-left languages, math equation response fields now correctly allow learners to input mathemetical or scientific expressions from left to right.

  • Various accessibility changes were made in Studio and in the LMS to improve navigation for screen reader users as well as readability.

  • On edx.org, to improve security, the Forgot password? process no longer indicates whether provided email addresses exist in the system.

  • Version 2.6.2 of the edX app for Android is now available on the Google Play Store. This version of the mobile app allows learners to browse edX courses without creating an edX account and without logging in. Learners can register for an edX account or sign in from the about page for any course.

  • In the EdX Learner’s Guide, the Receiving Your Certificate and Enrolling in a Course or Program sections have been reorganized and updated.

For more information about the changes in this release, see the edX Release Notes. You can access the weekly release notes, as well as all of the edX documentation, at docs.edx.org.
