Join us for our regular monthly online community meetup. This month, Stefania Trabucci from Abstract Technology will be speaking about integrating BigBlueButton with Open edX: https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/COMM/pages/1494353447/June+11+2020+community+meetup
BigBlueButton is the open-source video conferencing system most used in education, and through its LTI integration can be embedded inside an Open edX course.
We want to share our experience with BBB + Open edX, explaining how BBB as a separate service works and show which advantages teachers and students have when the tool is integrated into the LMS.
BigBlueButton is a web conferencing system designed for online learning. In addition to all the feature you’d expect from a video conferencing tool, it also has features explicitly designed for online learning: the presenter can show slides that the students can easily download. It provides tools to write on the slides and turn them into a virtual whiteboard. A recording functionality can archive the whole lesson, slides included, for later view.
Through the LTI integration students of an Open edX course can easily follow a lesson live or view its recording afterwards.
See the event page for time and Zoom details.
